THE HONOURABLE WILLIAM CURRAN
Prior to his involvement with the Institute for Applied Science William Curran was appointed by President George H. Bush to be the founding US Director for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
A former Chairman of First Chicago Investment Bank Limited, and a Director of numerous joint venture subsidiaries; former Councillor and Chairman of the European Working Party of FIMBRA (the British Securities Regulatory Authority), and Special Advisor to the Economic and Social Committee to the European Communities dealing with banking investment services and capital adequacy directives. Mr. Curran's experience of Russian-Western business is extensive. As Chairman of First Chicago, he was involved in the negotiation of ten Comecon syndications, and brought numerous first time Russian and Eastern European borrowers to the European market. As Senior Executive of the New York Investment Bank Delafield and Delafield he launched the first Euro-Equity issue for a European Corporation.
